Patrick Richard : « La voix du père, la voie du fils »
On July 25, 2009, Patrick Richard challenged himself to write a page a day for the rest of his life. Slowly, he filled notebooks with deep thoughts and outlandish ideas. One day, he dives back into his 5,000 pages of writing to find a recurring theme. It lit up before his eyes on exactly the same day of the year: April 7. On that same date, in 1986, tragedy struck his family. In the decades that followed, Patrick recovered, deconstructed, rebuilt and put down roots. La voix du père, la voie du fils (The Father's Voice, the Son's Way) tells the story of a son's letter to his father, outlining a path to redemption and delving into the adolescent mind of an individual able to play down his life with wacky humor. Presented as a video-supported podcast, the 40-minute performance alternates between storytelling, music and numerous voice-overs. It's all an opportunity to talk about one thing and one thing only: kindness. Let's not remain prisoners of our emotions and wounds. Let's live life in the present moment, welcoming ourselves in all that we are.
